Gilat Foundation provides interactive theatre performances for children in teaching hospitals. We offer children a laugh and let them forget for a moment that they are ill. We do this in six children’s hospitals: in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Groningen and Nijmegen. For this, we depend on gifts and donations. Funds are an important form of income for our foundation.
Will your fund help make our work possible? Mail to marleen@gilat.nl or fill in our contact form and we will get in touch with you.
Dorine Manson, managing director Nationale Postcode Loterij: ‘Every child deserves to be able and allowed to be a child. Even children who are seriously ill. With the Gilat theatres in various children’s hospitals, the foundation puts a smile on the faces of these seriously ill children, making them forget for a moment that they are ill. We are proud that thanks to the participants of the Nationale Postcode Loterij, we can support the Gilat Foundation with a contribution of 400,000 euros.’
About the Nationale Postcode Loterij – together we make a difference
The Postcode Loterij was founded in 1989 to support charities working towards a just, healthy and green world. The lottery raises funds for its charities and publicises awareness of their work.
At the Postcode Loterij, your postcode forms your lottery number. As a result, you win together with your neighbours. Today, 3 million participants play the lottery. Participants stand a chance of winning hundreds of thousands of prizes every month and, with at least 40 per cent of the lottery prize, support 148 charitable organisations every year. Since the establishment of the Postcode Loterij, more than 7.3 billion euros have been donated to people and nature. Gilat Foundation and many other organisations receive support every year.
The Postcode Loterij and the Friends Lottery form the Holding Nationale Goede Doelen Loterijen. These lotteries are listed as a Dutch tradition on the Inventory of Intangible Heritage (UNESCO). The Postcode Loterij format also operates in the UK, Sweden, Germany and Norway. The Goede Doelen Loterijen together with the lotteries in these countries are the third largest private lender to charities in the world. www.postcodeloterij.nl
To websiteThe Cultural Participation Fund is making a wonderful multi-year contribution to all Gilat theatres within our Kingdom.

Thanks to the long-standing support of the Vaillant Fund, Stichting Gilat is able to provide hospital theatre for families throughout our Kingdom.
Chronically ill children (4-12 yrs ) in the Netherlands and Curaçao experience fun, distraction and relaxation in hospital theatres, allowing them to gain positive energy together with family members where children are in the lead.
The aim of this foundation is to support small-scale initiatives. When you are seriously ill, it is important to look forward to something, to be distracted for a while, and Foundation Weteringsschans supports Gilat Foundation in our desire to offer a welcome distraction to chronically ill children at Emma Children’s Hospital.
To websiteEvery year, the Prince Bernhard Culture Fund invests in culture in the Caribbean part of our Kingdom. Stichting Gilat is one of the lucky recipients of their support.
