Stichting Gilat theater

Funds

Gilat Foundation provides interactive theatre performances for children in teaching hospitals. We offer children a laugh and let them forget for a moment that they are ill. We do this in six children’s hospitals: in Amsterdam, Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, Groningen and Nijmegen. For this, we depend on gifts and donations. Funds are an important form of income for our foundation.

Will your fund help make our work possible? Mail to marleen@gilat.nl or fill in our contact form and we will get in touch with you.

Nationale Postcode Loterij

Dorine Manson, managing director Postcode Loterij: “Every child deserves to be able and allowed to be a child. Even children who are seriously ill. With the Gilat theatres in various children’s hospitals, the foundation puts a smile on the faces of these seriously ill children, who thereby forget for a moment that they are ill. We are proud that thanks to the participants of the Postcode Lottery, we can support the Gilat Foundation with a contribution of 400,000 euros.”

About the National Postcode Lottery – together we make a difference
The National Postcode Lottery was founded in 1989 to support charities working towards a just, healthy and green world. The lottery raises funds for its charities and publicises awareness of their work.

At the Postcode Lottery, your postcode forms your lottery number. As a result, you win together with your neighbours. Three million participants now play the lottery. Participants stand a chance of winning hundreds of thousands of prizes every month and support 148 charitable organisations with at least 40 per cent of the lottery prize each year. Since the establishment of the Postcode Lottery, more than 7.3 billion euros have been donated to people and nature. Gilat Foundation and many other organisations receive support every year.

The Postcode Lottery and the Friends Lottery form the Holding Nationale Goede Doelen Loterijen. These lotteries are listed as a Dutch tradition on the Inventory of Intangible Heritage (UNESCO). The Postcode Lottery format also operates in the UK, Sweden, Germany and Norway. The Goede Doelen Loterijen together with the lotteries in these countries are the third largest private lender to charities in the world. www.postcodeloterij.nl

Fonds voor Cultuurparticipatie

The Cultural Participation Fund is making a wonderful multi-year contribution to all Gilat theatres within our Kingdom.

“Gilat Foundation creates special offerings for sick children based on their needs and abilities, removing barriers to active cultural participation. The artistic quality of the theatre productions is good, and the performances are performed by professional, qualified and specifically trained actors for dealing with sick children.”

For three years, the Van Zadelhoff Culture Fund has been a committed partner of the foundation. Our cultural activities of a social nature pursue a common goal.
“Gilat Foundation makes tangible how culture takes a chronically ill child and his family out of the harsh reality of the hospital, and can conjure them into another world.”

Van den Tweel Groep

Van den Tweel Group is investing in our programme that benefits sick children at Curaçao Medical Center.
In this first phase, this means concretely providing livestreams at a centrally accessible place in the hospital, where children and their parents relax, learn and have fun together.
